Fuentesal Arenillas [Huelva, 1986 – Cádiz, 1989] explore relationships and states as a point of departure: working through the double figure, the evolution of their own practice, and the practice of sculpture through the notion of play from which it originates, configuring their work through the metaphorical possibilities of materials. Their allegorical and linguistic implications are inserted — installed — within other circuits of material and cultural production rooted in popular traditions, whose trajectories remain independent from the itineraries of modernity.
Among their recent projects are CARRUSEL at the Centro Cultural Conde Duque; La danza mudanza at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo; Cubierta brillante Margen delgado at the Sala de Arte Joven; Casapuerta at Galería Luis Adelantado; and Un collar de ventanas at the Centro Párraga.
More recently, they have participated in group exhibitions such as CHÃO at the Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães; Lo que pesa una cabeza at the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes; Processi 150 at the Real Academia de España en Roma; Una historia reciente II at the Fundación Juan March; La vista y el tacto (ca.1929–30) at the Centro Federico García Lorca; Dialectos at the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo; and Turno de Réplica at the Museo Patio Herreriano.
They have received numerous awards, grants, and residencies, including the Fundación ”la Caixa” Production Grant 2024, the ARCOmadrid Award of the Community of Madrid 2024, the residency at the Real Academia de España en Roma (2022–2023), Generaciones 2023 at La Casa Encendida, the Fundación María José Jove Residency, the 6th ARCO Cervezas Alhambra Award, the 25th VEGAP Edition, and Matadero Crea, among others.
