Luis Adelantado Valencia is pleased to invite you to the opening of An Imaginary Party II that will take place on 18 December at Boiler Room.
An Imaginary party II brings together more than forty artists who have passed through the gallery during its thirty years of history. An intimate journey through the eyes of Olga Adelantado-director of the gallery-whohas selected from a panoramic view, drawings, photographs, monotypes, original work, editions… of a series of artists who have been linked to the gallery during all these years.
The emotional and montage axis of the exhibition will be a drawing by the conceptual artist James LeeByars, which will inhabit one of the walls of this specific space conceived for the exhibition with the structures designed by Sebastián Alós, arranged around the room and leaving the central space empty.
Among the works to be seen in the exhibition are historic artists of the gallery, such as Darío Villalba and Luis Gordillo, who left their mark in the visitor’s books, authentic artist’s books, which are being exhibited for the first time, as well as unpublished drawings by Eva Lootz, author of one of the gallery’s first exhibitions, and special editions of the publications that have been produced by the gallery for so many years, such as those of Juan Uslé, Ferrán García Sevilla, and Secundino Hernández. Without overlooking the importance of young artists for the gallery, many of them linked to the gallery through the CALL, such as Fermín Jiménez Landa, Iván Argote, Marco Papa…
For the artists who form part of this imagined party, Luis Adelantado is, and has been, a true platform from which to root their careers, from which to define themselves. A place of significant passage, a meeting point for opinions and visions about art… Because a gallery is always something more than a gallery.
