Bio

The work of Julie Fortier is built around the processes of olfactory perception and memory, creating evanescent landscapes where the narrative is crossed by a memory or sensation that triggers an image. This vaporous character of the aromas takes the form of perfumes, installations and drawings, as well as culinary events.

She has had exhibitions at the Maison Rouge in Paris, Centre d’art Micro-Onde in Vélizy Villacoublay, 49 Nord 6 Est FRAC Lorraine in Metz, Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Lille 3000 at the Tripostal and the Emily Harvey Foundation in New York, among others. At the same time, her work forms part of collections such as MAK, 49 Nord 6 est, FRAC Lorraine or Ville de Rennes, to mention a few of the most significant.
