Bio

Manu Blázquez (Valencia, 1978) develops his work around the research of graphic and translation systems, where the fundamental concepts of space and time are related. His plastic work combines different disciplines, such as engraving, writing and painting; resorting mainly to the dialogue between geometry and arithmetic for the production of his work but also paying attention to certain blind places where moments of escape and parliaments of arbitrary lines are noticed. At a conceptual level, his analysis can be related to artists who have used mathematical canons to develop their visual proposals and delve into processual aspects linked to human programming.

His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. He has participated in the artistic residency programs Kulturkontakt Austria (2018), Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2022) and Casa de Velázquez (French Academy in Madrid, 2022-2023).

His work can be found in collections such as; Ayuntamiento y Diputación de Valencia, Fundación Miró Mallorca, MAK Vienna (Library), IVAM, Bilbaoarte Foundation, Lázaro Galdiano Foundation, Banco Sabadell Foundation, BASSAT Collection, DKV Collection, Boghossian Foundation, Galila’s P.O.C. Collection, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, among others.
