Meadows/ARCO Artist Spotlight: Rubén Guerrero

The Meadows Museum and the ARCO Foundation have selected the painter Rubén Guerrero (b. 1976) for the third edition of the Meadows/ARCO Artist Spotlight (MAS) programme, an initiative that promotes contemporary Spanish artists through exhibitions at the Meadows Museum. Guerrero’s visually and intellectually engaging paintings, which oscillate between abstraction and figuration and explore the limits of two-dimensionality, have been exhibited at major contemporary art centres throughout Spain, such as the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art in Seville and the Centre for Contemporary Art in Málaga. His work is also held in public and private collections in Spain, Germany and the United States. As with previous exhibitions at the MAS, the artist will travel to Dallas to take part in various educational programmes, many of which are exclusively for SMU students.

This exhibition has been organised by the Meadows Museum at SMU (Southern Methodist University), in Dallas, in collaboration with the ARCO Foundation, and is funded thanks to a generous donation from the Meadows Foundation. It also benefits from the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, through the a33> the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), as well as from the Embassy of Spain in the United States. The promotional support is provided by the District of Public Improvement of Tourism in Dallas.
