Alexandre Lamarche and Florentine Ovize is a French artist duo who have been working together since 2006. Their artistic practice explicitly refers to the Arts & Crafts movement, as an attitude in which they materialise thought in objects, giving rise to a wide variety of hybrid forms. Similarly, their corpus consists of a multiplicity of media, from tapestry patterns and ceramics, to video animations, drawings and installations. This shift from one medium to another maintains a cause-and-effect relationship, in which motifs are shot eccentrically and abundantly across walls, sketches and notes.
Among the exhibitions they have held, we can highlight the following: FMAC of Paris, the FRAC of Île-de-France, the FRAC of the Pays de la Loire, the FRAC Midi-Pyrénées or the Centre d’art du Parc Saint Léger, among others. They were also selected for the Open Sessions at the Drawing Center in New York in 2016.
