Dark Man a lomos del Pájaro de Fuego

This project by Jorge Peris (Alzira, 1969) created for Gallery 6 of the IVAM is based on the its foundations in the structure of the exhibition gallery itself. Taking this space as a blank canvas, with its diagonals, columns and staircase which possess such resolute forms, Peris constructs a new place that is unique and inhabited, in which where there overlap different times and places into a single unique dimension of space-time, thus transforming the various different elements that a50> the various elements that coexist in a single installation.
The return of the artist to Valencia in 2011 infuses the project with aautobiographical aura which takes on different forms of manifestation, not only through the presence of particular elements of the immediate context, but also due to the existence of artistic references linked to their years of training in the city of Valencia. One of the fundamental features of this project by Peris is the presence of opposing ideas or concepts, almost in the manner of conceptual pairs inherent to philosophy, which highlight the conflicts or dichotomies through the relationships of tension and balance.
