The body of work of Jorge Peris (Alzira, 1969) has focused on the creation of site-specific installations, in which he explores the microcosm of relationships generated from materials as disparate as bacteria, algae, sand or salt, creating environments whose process ends up configuring the display of the piece in question.
Jorge Peris transforms the room into a laboratory, this has led him to collaborate with biologists, physicists and even psychologists in the development of his research, placing himself in an experimental territory where error and accident accompany the testing of his artistic practice.
His work is part of collections such as the MAXXI Collection, Antinori, Collezione Giuliani, Bombas Gens and INELCOM. He has also exhibited at the ICA (London), Tang Contemporary Art (Beijing), Newman Popiashvili Gallery (New York), MIMOCA (Berlin), MACRO (Rome), Nicodim Gallery (Bucharest), CA2M (Madrid) and La Conservera (Murcia), among other prominent venues.
